Born in 1962 in Bangkok, Thailand. Nipan Oranniwesna graduated with BFA (1st class hon.) in graphic arts from Silpakorn University in Bangkok Thailand (1986) and MFA in printmaking from The Tokyo National University of Fine Arts & Music (2000). Most of Nipan Oranniwesna ‘s work focus on the reconstruction of fact and fiction surrounding issues related to historical memory and the politic of identity and the nation, globalisation and immigration.
For decades, Nipan have been exhibited extensively in museums, cultural centers and art galleries thoughtout the world. He represented Thailand at the Venice Biennale in 2007, and has been featured in many international exhibitions including Singapore Biennale 2013, Setouchi Triennale 2013 Kuandu Biennale 2012, The 18th Biennale of Sydney, City- Net Asia 2011, Seoul Museum of Art, Korea (2011), Busan Biennale, Korea (2008) etc.
