Lyla Gallery in collaboration with TADU Thaiyarnyon Contemporary Art Bangkok are pleased to present s travel exhibition by Japanese artist, Yosuke Hasegawa and Thai artist, Witaya Junma, Moneylicious by Yosuke Hasegawa with Witaya Junma at Lyla Gallery. The exhibition has been shown in Bangkok and Nakhon Si Thammarat, and now traveling to Chiang Mai at Lyla Gallery. The opening reception will take place on 5 December 2015, 6.30 onward.
The exhibition is the artists’ contemplation and interpretation of symbols and physical meanings of many banknotes currency that can be applied and adjusted to tally with its own artwork. Yosuke’s work is made from banknotes folding by using ancient Japanese method and the artist’s own contemporary method which will portray different level of difficulties. New images coined from the collage of these banknotes are also presented here to deliver new interesting meaning, stretching our imagination back to a country where they were printed. Witaya often work with new media, and in this exhibition, he creates interactive video installation that allow viewers to interact with the artworks.
The opening reception of Moneylicious by Yosuke Hasegawa with Witaya Junma at Lyla Gallery exhibition will be on 5 December 2015 at 6.30 pm onward.
